Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi International Airport, after meet and greet by local tour manager, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: hotel in Delhi
Day 2: Delhi – Srinagar Fly
Morning after breakfast transfer to Airport for Srinagar bound flight. On arrival at Srinagar airport, meet and greet by tour manager, and transfer to the house boat. After wash and change we take shikara ride for rest of the day on famous Dal Lake. We will visit Char Chinar Island, Nishat Garden and if time allows various other shrines.
Overnight: stay in House Boat
Day 3: In Srinagar
After leisurely breakfast leave for city tour. Visit Mughal Garden that includes Nishat, Chashma Shahi and Shalimar Gardens, Hari Parbat fort, Jamia Masjid and various shrines. In the afternoon, visit Shankara Chariya temple.
Overnight: in houseboat.
Day 4: Srinagar – Kargil Drive (204 Km)
Early morning leave for Kargil via Sonamarg where we walk around and explore the area. Early afternoon continue towards Kargil. Arrive Drass (the second coldest inhabitant place in the world) for lunch. After lunch drive to Kargil. Arrive and check in at hotel. Note: For construction and road repair, sometimes Zojila remains closed for one day during every week and up to last year it used to be closed on Sunday’s. The day is decided year to year. Keep flexibility of one day.

Day 5: Kargil – Alchi Drive 170 Km
On leaving the Kargil town, the road plunges into the ridges and valleys of the Zanskar Range, over a huge mound of alluvium known as Khurbathang plateau, now made fertile by a huge irrigation system. Visit the gigantic rock carving of Maitreya Buddha and a gompa perched high on a crag above the village. Drive continued to Leh via the Namika-la (12,200 ft/3,719 m) pass, to Fotu-la pass (13,432 ft/4,094 m) and visit Lamayuru Monastery. About 65 Km. short of Leh, just before entering Saspol village, we cross over to left bank of river Indus and continue for further few Km. to Alchi village and monastery.

Day 6: Alchi – Leh Drive 70 Km
After breakfast explore the Alchi gompa which dates back to the year 1000 AD and was built by the Translator, Rinchen Zangpo. He even made a reference about the monastery in his biographies. It is written that he brought thirty-two sculptors and wood carvers from Kashmir, for the construction of the Alchi Monastery. Drive continue toward Leh, Visit Likir, a Buddhist monastery, the literary meaning of the word ‘Likir’ is “The Naga-Encircled”. It represents the Nanda, Takasko and Naga-rajas, the great serpent spirits. We pass thru Basgo and nimu village, Our next stop is SANGAM, The confluence of Zanskar and Indus Rivers, just before Nimmu Village, there comes a famous confluence of two rivers, Indus River coming from Tibet (left) and Zanskar River coming from Zanskar Valley (right). We drive pass through the Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity. It is believed that this Magnetic Hill near Leh has magnetic properties so strong to pull cars towards it. We put the car in the marked box and placed it in neutral gear and voila!! The car started climbing. Drive continue toward Leh, on arrival transfer to Hotel.

Day 7: In Leh
In the morning, after breakfast visit Shey Palace - the former palace of upper Ladakh and Thiksy - one of the most imposing monasteries in the Indus valley. In afternoon visit LEH PALACE: Overlooking Leh, Leh Palace is one of the major attractions in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir. This 9 storey palace was built in 17th century for King Singge Namgyal. In evening (at Sunset) visit Shanti Stupa, one of the magnificent Tibetan structures that has ever been built.

Day 8: Nubra Valley (Drive 145 Km)
After an early breakfast leave for Nubra valley via the highest motorable pass, the Khardungla (5606 mts). Up and down this pass, we see fantastic panoramic view of Stok Kangri and other surrounding peaks. On arrival visit Disket monastery. In evening visit sand dunes at Hunder to enjoy a brief camel ride of double hump camels.

Day 9: Nubra – Pangong Tso Drive 160 km
After an early breakfast leave for Pangong Lake, the longest high altitude lakes, the Pangong at the height of 4350m. This endorheic lake is 12 kilometres long and extends from India to Tibet, with two-thirds of it lying in the latter. Owing to its altitude, the temperature here ranges from -5°C to 10°C as a result of which the lake freezes completely during winters in spite of its salinity. A unique feature of the lake is that it does not remain blue throughout the year or even the day, rather it changes colours from azure to light blue to green and grey too! This lakes only about 40% is in India, other part in Tibet (China).

Day 10: Pangong – Leh Drive 170 km
Morning after breakfast depart and drive to Leh. On the way back visit Hemis - the position of Hemis monastery, lying in a small isolated valley south of the Indus, belies its importance. As headquarters of the Drukpa (old Buddhist) order, it administers monasteries throughout the whole of Ladakh - from the Indus to the Zanskar valley and from the Markha to the Sumdah valley.

Day 11: Leh – Tsomoriri Drive 223 Km 8 Hrs.
Leave after an early breakfast, take the Leh - Manali highway until Upshi, from here the road branches off and turn left, from here the road switches from left to right bank of Indus river until Mahi bridge, en-route visit Chumathang sulphur hot springs. At Mahi finally cross over to left bank of river. From here the road gradually ascends through narrow Puga valley until Puga village (Tibetan refuge settlement), here take left turn and the road still ascends up to a small pass (Namshangla). From here continue for a short distance to Tso Morari for overnight camp

Day 12: Tsomoriri – Jispa Drive 312 Km. 9 To 10 Hrs.
After breakfast, we set off for a day long journey to Jespa in Lahul region of Himachal Pradesh via Tsokar. After that, we reach to main Leh Manali High way and then descend down the Gata loops, an amazing series of 21 hair-pin bends. Continuing our journey, we pass through Serchu and Pang. After that we climb the Baralacha pass (4891m) and are once again treated to spellbinding views of the Himalayan range, before threading our way down the mountain side towards our night stop at Jespa, a small settlement in Lahaul.
Overnight: Guest house / Camp
Day 13: Jispa – Manali Drive 141 Km. 6 Hrs.
Today takes us over the Rohtang Pass (3977m), the last of the high passes before descending down to the Kulu Valley and the picturesque town of Manali, surrounded by forests and mountains.

Day 14: In Manali
After breakfast depart for city tour of Manali. Visit Hadimba Temple/Doongri Temple: The temple is dedicated to the local deity Hadimba built in 1553 AD and also visit Vashisth Hot Water Sulphur Spring: This is 3 km away from Manali and known for its pyramidal temple dedicated to Vashishta Muni, and natural hot water sulphur springs with two separate bathing tanks for gents and ladies. Old Manali/Manu Temple: This is an original settlement with few old houses made of wood having slate roofs. There is also the Manu Maharishi Temple, dedicated to Manu, who was the creator of human race on the earth.

Day 15: Manali – Chandigarh Drive 320 Km Chandigarh – Delhi By Train Departure 18:23 Arrival 21:50
Morning after breakfast depart and drive to Chandigarh on arrival transfer to Railway station for Delhi bound train, on arrival transfer to hotel

Day 16: Departure
Morning after breakfast depart for city tour of Delhi, begin with a visit to Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the nation was cremated in 1948. Thereafter drive pass the magnificent Red Fort (closed on Mondays) built of red sandstone, dating from the very peak of the Mughal power. Then, Rickshaw Ride through Chandni Chowk. After that, visit to black and white onion domes and minarets of the Jama Masjid, the most elegant mosque in India. After Lunch, drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan (the Presidential Palace) and the Secretariat buildings - the centre of Government activity, down to the impressive Rajpath (the main avenue), to the World War I memorial arch, India Gate, the High Court Building and the Old Fort. In evening Transfer to airport for homeward flight.
